Buffet Time
In exchange for my helping out Rev. Betty and designing her organization's website, Louie took us all out to dinner.
We went to the Country Buffet over in Levittown.
Snapped a couple of pics of Leah enjoying all it had to offer.
Leah likes to dip. She dips her veggies in her mashed potatos. She dipped saltine crackers in her ice cream. She turned away ice cream for more crackers. Then enjoyed some jello and fruit.

I had a great time and am grateful to have people like Laurie, Louie, Toni-Ann, Julia and Rev. Betty in our lives.

Little Miss Independent
Made Leah some cereal this morning. She didn't want my help. So she proceeded to eat it all on her own. When did this happen?

Then I had to give her a bath

Special Trip to NYC
Today was my first real trip into Manhattan with Leah. All by ourselves, on the train and everything.
We first took the LIRR into Penn Station. Then hailed a cab up to midtown, right across the street from Carnegie Hall.
Then-by far the best part- we went to lunch with some of the greatest people I know.
Ms. Ordover-one of my high school english teachers, Mr. Donnelly-my high school history teacher, Ms. Striker-very kickass teacher I never got the chance to have but got to know a bit, James (one of my closest friends from HS) and Tiffany (One of the most literate, and intelligent woman I've ever met.
The latter is the #1 reason I LOVED my high school. We had some great food, caught up lots and well...it really made my day, my month, my year. Leah was wonderful as usual. And I am really happy they got to see her.
I wouldn't be who I am without them. I don't think I would have made it through high school without Mr. D and Ms. O. I consider them life long friends. How many people can say that about their High School teachers?
Afterwards I took Leah to the church I went to as a kid. Calvary Baptist Church...then we went next door to the Salisbury hotel and visited one of my dad's friends Peter. He has known me since I was a little bit older than Leah. We go way back. It was great to have him meet her.
We also stopped by the Russian Tea Room to say hi to the manager there. Who I have also known since I was a kid. I ate for free there more times than I can count because of their relationship with the church :D
Here is Leah outside Carnegie Hall.

I have to say I met some of the nicest people on this trip into the city. I had people offering left and right to help me up the stairs, down the stairs, onto the train, off the train with Leah's stroller. I love New Yorkers!

Then we went to Applebee's for dinner. They had this guy blowing up ballons and stuff. He made Leah a funny hat.

Leah's 2nd Christmas
We woke up and went down to Laurie & Louie's. And you would never guess who was there?
SANTA! The white bearded man with gifts and all, in REAL LIFE!
We hung out and opened gifts. Had a great time. Have it on video. I will have to get some of it up. AWESOME TIME. Louie missed him. Maybe he will get to see him next year.
Then it was off to Grandma's house we went.
George, Leah & Ruth

Next we went to Abuelita Ivy's and had a great time. Lots of hugs and kisses!
After went to Abuelo Gil's. Where Leah proceeded to get MORE STUFF! Lucky little girl that she is. And Titi Lani came over with Kain.

Midnight Presents
Leah opened her first present. I got her pjs to wear on Christmas morning. I always got pjs. And the Care Bears are reminiscent of the same shirt pajamas I wore as a child.

Leah, Ms. Handy
We were fortunate enough to get a wonderful entertainment center from Ikea. Matt's parents got it for us for Christmas. IT ROCKS.
Leah "helped" Matt put it together.

Tired of Mommy
I had to do some work on the computer. Leah got tired of waiting. So she ate her snack and went right to sleep at my feet. Yes, I admit it. I am a bad parent. Before putting her in bed I snapped a picture.
