More of Easter Sunday 2012

As a child I attended church on Easter Sunday. We dressed up in clothes we were supposed to keep clean and wrinkle free, shoes that weren't supposed to scuff and the cutest hats. I usually went down to Calvary Baptist followed by brunch and an afternoon spent in Central Park. Though we are not observers of any one religion in our home we do still keep some of our childhood traditions alive. So we don't attend church but we do meet with the Grandparents and Aunt Lindsay for brunch. We were running behind a bit today but managed to get to the restaurant with some time to spare. Leah wore a dress she picked out.

After brunch it was time to head over to the Grandparents' house for...more baskets!

It was a beautiful day so we took the opportunity to try to snap some photos of the kids outside. This is becoming a 'thing' I try to do whenever we can. The Grandparents have a great yard that is perfect for impromptu photo sessions. I also love that it is their house, same house Matt grew up in, and years down the line we can look at these photos of the kids there.

We went home and I set up a small Easter Egg hunt for them out in front of our house.

Easter Sunday Morning 2012

The kids woke up early and enjoyed opening their Easter/Spring baskets. Umm...someone...went a bit overboard with the stuff this year...

This is the one big basket with things for all of them to share, mostly Louis and Leah.

The kids also have their own individual buckets. I buy things & put them away through the year to use for busy bags or gift baskets. It ends up being handy.

Leah sure loves Hello Kitty, especially when the heads are filled with her favorite candy, Whoppers.

We had breakfast and got to some egg dyeing. This was our first year doing this. It went really well and I can see us doing it again throughout the year.

The kids made decorations for us to hang up on the windows.

Easter Brunch in NYC

Today we went to Manhattan to have Easter Brunch with Grandpa George & Grandma Ruth. We went to a restaurant called Opia.

Leah posed for some photos before heading out.

Attempted to get a photo of Leah and Louis. This was as close as we got.

We got a great seating at the restaurant right out on the balcony.

The restaurant had a room set up for kids to play in with a face painter, Easter Egg hunt and other goodies.

Waiting to have her face painted.

Not your ordinary run of the mill face painter.

Leah loved it!

Zombie eh?

More fun at the farm

We needed to get out of the house for a bit today and once again White Post Farms was the perfect fit for us. We enjoyed their Easter themed activities.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Goods

Feeding the animals

Meeting the Easter Bunny

Painting a huge ostrich egg.

Riding the train with Louis. You are supposed to be an adult to do this with a little one but Leah said she could do it without me. Great big sister.

Holding on tight to Louis.

The farm has a nice cafe in its gourmet market. Smoothies and fresh baked goods.
