Prelude to Christmas

As with many families the holidays are a very special time for us. We look forward to it all year long. The kids especially enjoy the decorating that happens. This year we spent a lot of time putting together special ornaments and working on crafts together. Leah and Louis enjoy crafts. Leah is now at an age where she can sit and work on them for hours on end.

A lil Mad Hatter Tea

Leah wanted to have a small tea party for her birthday this year. She picked out pink and black as her theme colors and left the rest to me. Leah loves Alice in Wonderland and especially the Mad Hatter.

 

Christmas Decor

Finally managed to get our tree up (and I know now that it is up it won't be done till probably February). Still love our tree.

Ready for Halloween

Halloween is a pretty big deal around our house. Leah loves decorating the house to celebrate. Last year I didn't do much because I was pregnant. I promised to make it up to her this year. Originally we were going to do this gruesome zombie baby display but then after some thought we decided with the little kids in the community it may be best to tone it down.

This is a preview of the porch. We have one or two things to add to it.

Christmas Countdown begins

Our Christmas countdown usually begins around the time we decorate the tree at the grandparents' house.

We had a great time putting up all the ornaments and enjoying the time together.

We decorated our Christmas tree tonight.

Leah helped Matt with the garland while I sorted the ornaments and put hooks on them.

Tree Decorating - Take Two

We spent the evening putting up our tree, only to find out that we couldn't get all our lights to work AND get our topper on the tree. I've been asking for a new tree for a while and Matt went out to get one. He brought back a monster of a tree but it is beautiful and ended up being perfect for us.

Decorating Time

Leah decided to add some extra touches to her new bed.



Leah's hair changes from day to day depending on what we do with it. Though naturally it is very curly.
