A Little Spot of Tea?

Matt bowls Friday nights and is missed by the kids at bedtime. At first I attempted to get them all done at 8 as they usually do every night but they refused. Rather than fight them we came up with activities for us to do together to make the nights special. Louis and Leah LOVE tea and Alice in Wonderland so we've taken to having tea parties when we can. Tonight they asked for finger sandwiches and treats like they would have at their favorite tea spot Alice's Tea Cup. I was less ambitious and went with easy finger sandwiches and treats I didn't need to bake.

It has become a bit of a montly tradition for us and one I have come to enjoy sharing with the kids. Leah especially loves trying new teas and it gives us a moment to talk and catch up from the busy week.

Egg Salad, turkey and cheese, grapes, madarin slices, robin egg whoppers, Raspberry shortcake thumbprint cookies, dulce de leche cookies and red velvet whoopie pie cookies

Tot-Wearing Big Sister

One of Leah's favorite things to do with the boys is wear them. Ever since Louis was a baby she was looking forward to the day when she would be big enough to wear them as I do. She isn't that much bigger than them so it isn't always the most feasible thing for her to do. She's pretty much mastered the wrap and mei tai. Today she wanted to mess around with the Ergo but she isn't quite big enough for it. They had a good time anyway.

Local Comp Fun

Today Leah competed w/the dance team at a local dance competition. It was held at a Marriott about ten minutes from our house. Convenient  since it was a two day long dance competition. Louis asked to tag along at one point and really enjoyed the experience. Leah was great with him and showing him the ropes. Louis loves dance as much as Leah and it is a great bonding opportunity for them.
