O Canada - Day Five - Walking Tour & CN Tower

We continued our visit to the City of Toronto by heading downtown. I was most looking forward to this part of our trip. The rest of the family? Not so much. We walked to Kensington Market. Leah an Matt grabbed some burgers for lunch while I window shopped. I felt at home. No surprise there. Leah loved this car, dubbed the "hippie mobile" by Matt.

We continued through Chinatown down to Queen Street West then towards the CN Tower. A Toronto Blue Jays game had just finished and it was Labor Day weekend, made for a very long wait in line. We opted to do more walking and come back later.

We stopped at Roundhouse Park for a while and checked out the train.
Matt, Leah and Louis rode the miniature railway together.

Stopped off in the playground for a play break.

We walked down to the Harbourfront Centre and walked along the water for a bit. Afterward we decided to head back to the CN Tower to give waiting in line a go. It was still quite the long wait but we decided to go anyway. We made the best of the time. Had snacks for the kids and we played games. They handled the 2 hour wait pretty well. I found the CN Tower staff to be very understanding of how difficult it is for children to wait patiently. No one was given a hard time for kids running about or sitting by the windows.

The kids playing together as we waited.

We finally made it to the elevators and the ride? Was pretty neat. We reached our destination. Leah enjoyed the Glass Floor level.

The view was worth the wait.

We headed to Union Station and after being turned around for a bit made our way to the right subway to go back uptown to ROM where our car was parked. The trains differ from what we are used to in NYC. We made it back to our hotel after a small detour due to a lack of GPS but we managed to remember how to get where we needed to. We all hit the sack as soon as we got to our room.
